FAQs - Count The Cost - Church Land & Building Development Advisors

Q: How can I get more information?

A: It’s easy to contact us. We look forward to serving you!

Q: How do we know if our church is ready to begin pursuing our vision?

A: The first step is to take an inventory of your ministry by assessing your spiritual condition and financial position. You need to determine the church’s willingness and commitment to invest time and ‘at risk’ dollars in the pursuit of the vision in your marketplace. Count The Cost can assist you in this evaluation process by sharing key factors ministries must have before beginning a building or relocation project. We’ll challenge you to look introspectively and Count the Cost.

Q: We’ve already started the process on our own — will you work with us?

A: Contact Count The Cost and provide Mike with the details of where you are in the process. He will share options for becoming your advocate in the process.

Q: What do you charge for your services?

A: The cost of services is project specific. After an onsite visit with the church, reviewing their finances, defining their goals, reviewing the availability and cost of land in the church’s target area, Count The Cost will present a proposal for their services as needed. We have developed a pricing structure that takes into account the needs of churches and other non-profit organizations. For more information, please contact us.

Q: What does our ministry receive?

A: Count The Cost guides your ministry through the process of selecting a site and purchasing the property, and approaches every decision from a ministry perspective. We can help you save hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars. To learn more about how CTC can assist you, click the Services block and check out our complete list of services.

Throughout the process, we will regularly update an online file with all the paperwork, site visit notes, contracts and other work connect to your project. Through our secure website, your leadership team can access the material at any time.

Q: What is our project likely to cost?

A: Each project is different, but one way to begin budgeting is to complete our Count The Cost worksheet. This “schedule of values” helps you think through each aspect of your project and anticipate many of the potential costs.

Q: Why does a church need the services of Count The Cost?

A: It might not. On the other hand, Count The Cost might just be the advocate the church needs to assist it in making wise choices. This wisdom in decision-making can then allow the church to be a good steward of its resources.
